A Pocketful of Transpore Tape

It is the end of an era.

This tape--the one that causes reactions to some people but has been the workhorse of many a case (you tape the eyes to keep from drying the cornea, you tape in the i.v. or line, you tape the arms to the table, you tape to hold a droopy bit of drape as an ether screen up...you get the picture)--isn't being made any more by the manufacturer.

Paper tape has the exact same adhesive on it, and it doesn't stick.  (I know you have allergies and only paper tape will do, that's fine-it sticks less so there is a difference in the performance even though the adhesive is the same).

And the replacement tape? The one that looks like a hybrid between paper tape and the old transpore one?

Yikes!

It pulls off the skin of the eyelid with it! It's horrible.

So...as a result...I have now a pocketful of the very last of the old stuff when I am at work. I'm not sure what I am going to do when this one runs out.

It's been a classic.

Please note it might not be discontinued at all. However, it's not being included for sure in 'The Bundle' of products some supplier has negotiated with our hospital system.

My technicians are looking for alternatives.

Thank you for any suggestions!

Namaste.
